The project's primary objective is to capture landfill gas (LFG), which is rich in methane (CH₄), a potent greenhouse gas that was previously vented into the atmosphere. The captured gas is then destroyed through two main pathways: combustion in high-efficiency enclosed flares or processing and supplying it to industrial customers through a dedicated pipeline, displacing the use of fossil fuels.
