Qianbei Afforestation Project

The Qianbei Afforestation Project is located in Guizhou Province, China, and aims to plant native tree species on barren lands for carbon sequestration while contributing to local sustainable development goals. The project has planted 50,061 hectares of forest, enhancing biodiversity and mitigating the effects of climate change.   The project also focuses on improving the livelihoods of local communities. It has created jobs for villagers, with 70% of the workforce being women, and provided training in planting and management techniques. The project has also improved soil quality and contributed to the control of rocky desertification.
