GS 7591 VPA 46 Improved Cookstove Distribution In Kayonza, Bugesera And Nyamasheke Districts of Rwanda

The carbon offsetting project in Rwanda involves the distribution and installation of fuel-efficient cookstoves in the Kayonza, Bugesera, and Nyamasheke districts. The primary goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing firewood consumption. The project also aims to deliver several social and community benefits, including: - Improved health: By reducing indoor air pollution, the project helps to minimize the risk of respiratory diseases and other health issues associated with smoke inhalation. - Gender equality: The fuel-efficient cookstoves reduce the time and effort required for cooking and collecting firewood, tasks that disproportionately fall on women and girls.
